Kevin Ziegler

Kevin is recognized as one of the top sports performance coaches for Ice Hockey in the world. He travels exclusively throughout the U.S. and Canada for Octagon Hockey. Octagon is one of the largest sports representation companies in the world for hockey. Kevin specializes in health and fitness status as it relates to human power.

Over the past 17 years Kevin has worked with some of the top NHL, college, high school, and youth athletes in the field of Strength and Conditioning, as well as performance enhancement. Kevin has a Masters Degree in Physiology from Iowa State University and is certified from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Kevin is also the former Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Director of Strength & Conditioning for the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes. Kevin has also consulted with several NHL teams including the NY Islanders and the Philadelphia Flyers. Kevin has also conducted testing for the NHL Central Scouting Service.

Kevin was one of the first Strength Coaches in the U.S. to open his own sports training center devoted totally to athletic performance enhancement in 1990. The variety of athletes that Kevin has worked with has won World Championships, World Series Championships, National Championships, and the Stanley Cup.

In 2001, Kevin turned down an offer to coach the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL and reunite with Head Coach John Tortorella who he worked with in Phoenix. Since then Kevin has turned down four other offers to coach in the NHL to stay in Minnesota and work as a firefighter for the city of Minneapolis.

In 2006 Kevin accepted a position as Director of Strength & Conditioning with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL working alongside good friend Kevin Hartzell. In 2006 the Stampede won the Anderson Cup and in 2007 his team won the Clark Cup, USHL’s National Champion...in 2007- 21 out of 23 of his Stampede players received D1 Scholarships.

Larry Meadors

Dr. Meadors is nationally recognized in the field of Strength & Conditioning as well as being one of the most respected. Dr. Meadors has been a pioneer in the field of Strength & Conditioning for athletic performance and youth strength training. Dr. Meadors spent over 38 years in the field of Education as a teacher and coach in the Burnsville school district.

Dr. Meadors has to his credit 45 years of training athletes from the professional level down to the youth level. During that time Dr. Meadors was honored as Teacher of the Year in 1992, and was the National Strength & Conditioning (NSCA) Professional of the Year in 2003, and the Minnesota NSCA Professional Strength Coach of the Year in 1992. Dr. Meadors holds a PhD. from the University of Utah.

Dr. Meadors is certified with distinction from the National Strength & Conditioning Association CSCS*D, as well as a Certified Personal Trainer with Distinction with the NSCA-CPT*D. Dr. Meadors is also certified as a senior coach with USA Weightlifting. Coach Meadors has also served on the Governor’s Council on Fitness & Sport from 1991-1998, he has served on the NSCA High School Committee from 1994 to Present, and has been a consultant for the Minnesota Department of Education.

Dr. Meadors has served as a guest lecturer for numerous colleges including: Metro State, University of Denver, St. Cloud State University, St. Olaf College, Minnesota State Mankato and Slippery Rock College in Pennsylvania. Dr. Meadors is no stranger to hockey having started the Meadors Hockey Training Institute in 1996. Dr. Meadors also serves as an instructor for the Minnesota School of Business School of Exercise Science, and has served as a strength & conditioning trainer for the members of the Minneapolis SWAT Team.


Ken Eddy

Ken brings over 15 years of professional hockey knowledge and hockey training skills both as a player and coach to the Velocity Hockey center.

Ken has played all levels of hockey: Minnesota High School Hockey, USHL Junior A, Division1 and Division Three college hockey. Ken won a National Championship while playing with UW-River Falls.

Ken played professionally in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), United Hockey League (UHL), and Central Hockey League (CHL) for five years and overseas for five years in Sweden, Demark, France and Germany.Ken has coached at the Junior level in Sweden.

After completing his playing and coaching overseas, Ken returned to Minnesota and coached Minnesota High School Hockey as an assistant coach at Orono where he was voted Coach of the Year twice and was behind the bench for two State Tournament appearances.

He has instructed at many U.S.A. camps and worked with NHL players, both on and off the ice.

Bryce Karasiak

Bryce brings a wealth of knowledge to the Velocity Hockey Center. A former Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Minnesota.

Bryce received his Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Science with a minor in Sports Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Bryce is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Bryce specializes in increasing game speed performance and Olympic lifting movements. Bryce is in his first year with Velocity Hockey Center.

Brooke White

Brook brings a successful track record for developing student /athletes to the Velocity Hockey Center. Brooke directs the on and off ice programs for women’s hockey.

After 10 years of pursuing an Olympic dream Brooke is igniting that spirit in a new generation of young female hockey players at Velocity Hockey Center. Brooke brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her students.

A U.S. National Team member, Brooke played under Olympic coach Ben Smith in Lake Placid, New York. Brook played her college hockey at Northeastern University in Boston and has a B.A. in Psychology.

Brooke is also the Co-Founder for the MN Whitecaps Women’s National-Level, Post-College hockey team.

Brooke is also certified in Strength & Conditioning, specializing in performance and personalized nutrition programs for athletes.
Cole Bassett

Cole brings an extensive hockey background to the Velocity Hockey Center.

Cole played his freshman and sophomore high school hockey seasons at Hill-Murray, one of the states premier high school programs before moving on to play with the US National Development Team in Ann Arbor, MI.

While with the US National Development Program (USNTDP), which compiled a 48-11 record in the ’99-00’ USHL season,

Cole competed overseas in Finland, Sweden and Switzerland.

Cole went on to play Division 1 College Hockey at Minnesota State University, Mankato. During his junior season(2003) Cole helped the Mavericks to a second place finish in the WCHA, and a birth in the National Tournament in that same year.

Cole went on to play minor league hockey with the Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League, and also the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League(AHL). The Chicago Wolves are the affiliate to the Atlanta Thrashers(NHL).

Cole has coached at many youth hockey camps and holds a Sport Management Degree from Minnesota State Mankato.


Matt Rau

As a captain of Eden Prairie Varsity team in ‘03, Matt help to lead the Eagles to their best appearance to date.

Matt went on to continue his career at St. Olaf College.

Matt has been very active instructing all levels of the youth ranks and has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for five years and an on ice instructor for eight.

Matt brings his knowledge and hockey training skills both as a player and coach to Velocity Hockey center.

Matt graduated from St. Olaf College in 2007 and will begin Medical School in the Fall of 2007.

Tony Lancette

Tony brings over 15 years of officiating experience to the Velocity Officials School.

After graduating from Harvard University in 1993, Lancette continued his officiating career in District 8 through USA Hockey.  He has worked several state tournaments at the youth levels, most recently the 2007 A-Bantam state tournament in Alexandria.  In 2001, Tony was selected to officiate the National Tier I Bantam Tournament. 

Lancette began his high school officiating career in 1996 with the Minneapolis Hockey Officials Association. 

He has worked four boys' high school state tournaments, in 2002 and 2003 as a linesman and a referee for the 2005 and 2006 tournaments. 

His experience also includes section finals for both the boys and girls.  Lancette joined the collegiate ranks in 2000 at the D-III level.  Within two seasons, he was selected to the playoff staff.  In 2005, he refereed the NCHA Final Four in DePere, WI. 

This upcoming season, Tony will be entering his fourth season as  an Assistant Referee on the Men's WCHA staff. 

In 2005, he worked the Sunshine Classic in Estero, FL that included Cornell, Northeastern, Maine and UMD.  Last season, Lancette worked the CHA Final Five Championship in Des Moines, IA. 

Winny Brodt

Winny comes to the Velocity Hockey Center as a very highly respected asset to women’s hockey.

Winny won the first Ms. Hockey Minnesota in 1996 and has been very involved in USA Women’s Hockey ever since.

Winny played for the U.S. National Women’s Team the year before the 2002 Olympics. In 2005, Winny again competed for the third time for the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team.

Between Olympic tryouts Winny plays at the National Level as a founding member and player, along with Brooke, on the MN Whitecaps Women’s Team, the sole U.S. Team competing against the top 4 Canadian Teams in the WWHL League.
